National Assembly passed the Law on Network Security

The National Assembly passed the Law on Network Security with over 86% of delegates agreeing.
The Law on Cyber Security was approved by the National Assembly on June 12 with 423 of the 466 participants present (86.86%); 15 deputies disagreed; 28 non-voting delegates.
This law consists of seven chapters, 43 articles regulating the activities of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety on cyberspace; and responsibilities of concerned agencies, organizations and individuals.
Network security is defined as the assurance of operation on cyberspace without detriment to national security, social order, safety, legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals.
Network security is the prevention, detection, prevention and handling of infringements in this field.

Foreign enterprises must archive data in Vietnam
This content is stipulated in Article 26 of the Law. Accordingly, domestic and foreign enterprises, when providing services on telecommunications networks, internet and value-added services on cyberspace in Vietnam, must authenticate information when users register their digital accounts; confidential information, user accounts.
At the same time, the enterprise must provide user information to the network security task force under the Ministry of Public Security upon written request to serve the investigation and handling of violations of security law. network security.
Domestic and foreign enterprises that collect, exploit, analyze and process data on personal information, data on the relationship between service users and data collected by service users at Vietnam shall store this data in Vietnam within the period prescribed by the Government.
Foreign enterprises related to the above mentioned areas are required to set up branches or representative offices in Vietnam.

Six groups of behavior are strictly forbidden
Article 8 of the Law specifies six groups of prohibited behavior. Specifically, users are prohibited from using cyberspace to perform the acts of: Organizing, operating, colluding, inciting, bribing, deceiving, manipulating, training or training the anti-State; Distort history, negate revolutionary achievements, sabotage the great national unity bloc, religious offense, gender discrimination, racism ….
Acts such as false information cause confusion among people, causing damage to socio-economic activities, causing difficulties to the activities of state agencies or persons performing public duties, infringing upon The rights and interests of other organizations and individuals are also prohibited.
Sex work, social evils, human trafficking; posting information lewd, depraved, crime; destructive habits, ethics of the nation, social morality, public health, etc. are in the list of laws.
