FOSCO Leaders paid homage to Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro Ruz at Consulate General of the Republic of Cuba

On the afternoon of November 28 at the Consulate General of the Republic of Cuba to Ho Chi Minh City, General Director Nguyen Tuong Minh extended flowers and conveyed the deepest condolences for the loss of the former Country Leader.
In the book of condolences, General Director Nguyen Tuong Minh wrote:
“As soon as we heard about the sad news, that Fidel Castro, former First President of the Cuban Communist Party’s Central Committee and President of the State Council and Council of Ministers, passed away, on behalf of FOSCO Party’s Committy, Board of Members, Board of General Directors, and all of the staff of Service Company to Foreign Missions (FOSCO), I would like to convey the deepest condolences to Consulate General of the Republic of Cuba to Ho Chi Minh City and through the Consulate to the family, the government and the Cuban people.
In the Vietnamese people’s hearts forever carved is the late leader’s famous saying “For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to donate blood”.
We believe that the family, the government and the Cuban people will be able to overcome this loss and soon will continue their national protection, construction and development.”
The friendship relation between Vietnam and Cuba was officially established on December 2, 1960 by the two former country leaders Ho Chi Minh and Fidel Castro with great efforts to build and develop. Generations of country leaders and people have since then never ceased enhancing and expanding the brotherhood relation, comprehensive cooperation and mutual trust over the past half of the century.
The former country leader Fidel Castro had paid 3 official visits to Vietnam in September 1973, December 1995 and February 2003. He was the first foreign country leader to visit Vietnam in the newly-liberated area of Quang Tri in September 1973.
The Cuban legendary country leader was the first to lead the international revolutionary movement to support the Vietnamese fight for justice, for national independence and the country unification as well as to support the reconstruction, development and proctection of the Socialist Vietnam.
Fidel Castro received a Gold-Star medal from the Communist Party and State of Vietnam in 1982 and the Order of Ho Chi Minh in 1989.
